My Product Picks: Late Winter Edition

I sincerely hope Winter takes the hint when we set our clocks ahead for Daylight Savings Time this weekend.  I’m more than ready for a change from the rut of weekly weather advisories, and the hostile temperatures that go along with them.  Thankfully, there are a few products we carry that have made this season a little more bearable for my skin:

Glo Therapeutics Brightening Polish.  This scrub features jojoba beads, which exfoliate effectively without scratching the skin.  (Jojoba beads are natural, not synthetic, so there’s no need to worry about a negative environmental impact.)  It also has Turmeric extract, which is an antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties; as well as Kojic acid, a skin brightener derived from Japanese mushrooms.  Although our weather has made my skin more sensitive than usual, this scrub exfoliates dead cells without irritating my skin.

Teamine Eye Complex.  This fragrance-free, paraben-free eye cream is actually wonderful year-round, but extra helpful for its moisturizing benefits at this time of year.  It features lots of beneficial ingredients: Vitamin C for brightening, Peptides for moisture, Aloe and Green Tea extracts to soothe.  Its Vitamin K helps discourage dark circles, as does its Arnica Montana, a highly-effective anti-bruising herbal ingredient.  Teamine instantly improves moisture levels in the eye area, and with continued use, diminishes fine lines and dark undereye circles.  And yes, I am thrilled to have found something that allows me to use much less concealer!

Glo Therapeutics Restorative Cream.  This rich, soothing facial moisturizer is actually a little too heavy for my face, but is the only product I’ve found that soothes and improves my sandpapery hands in Winter.  The cream’s subtle fruit scent is from its moisture-rich Black Currant Seed oil.  Its key ingredients are an all-star list of skin soothers: Organic Rose Hip seed oil, Shea butter, Resveratrol, Green-tea-derived EGCG, Oat Beta Glucan, and Olive-derived Squalane.  Right now, it’s more than a treat for my hands; it’s a necessity!

I’ve heard rumors of Spring-like temperatures on the way this week, and I can’t wait to see if they prove true.  If your skin needs a little help with seasonal transition, please stop by for a free consult with one of our Medical Aestheticians to find your product dream team!
